"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" can be described in only three words: Just Extremely Epic. It takes an amazing graphic novel, which was quoted by Joss Whedon as "the best book ever", and turns it into a movie that stays fairly true to the concept of the books. I like to think that this is a movie everyone should see.
Synopsis - Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) the bassist of the band "Sex Bob-Omb" has met the girl of his dreams, literally. But, like any relationship, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) has some baggage. If Scott wants to date Ramona, he must defeat her seven evil exes. Helping Scott against the League of Evil Exes is Wallace (Kieran Culkin) his cool gay roommate, Stephen Stills (Mark Webber) the lead guitarist of Sex Bob-Omb, and Kim Pine (Alison Pill) the drummer, and Scott's ex-girlfriend. For a full synopsis, as always, see Wikipedia.
Key Points - If you have read the books, like me, you know that they changed a lot of stuff, and left out 50% of other important, yet non-essential items. Other than that, this movie was terrific. There are many references to 8-Bit and 16-Bit video games of the 80's and 90's. There are songs and sound effects from Zelda, including music for a dream sequence that they needed permission straight from Nintendo to use. Plenty of this stuff was Canada-related, which is awesome because I am Canadian. Somethings relevant to Canada are Scott and Michael Cera are both Canadian, the film and books are set in Toronto, and the author of the books, Bryan Lee O'Malley, is Canadian. I also think that Edgar Wright did amazingly with the movie. I feel that it had a certain vibe to it, and that it was caused by the sheer awesomeness of Edgar Wright.
Final Verdict - I give "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" 5 out of 5 stars. Even though there are less plot point in the movie than the books, it makes up for it with an amazing story, and characters to help it flow along into it. I definitely recommend this to anybody. This masterful experience is a Highly Recommended Film

Monty Python and the Holy Grail - Review 2
"Monty Python and the Holy Grail", one of my favorite films, is not relatively new. In fact, this movie was released in 1975. Even though this movie is 35 years old, this is still an amazing movie, and the fact that this is a movie made by the minds behind "Monty Python's Flying Circus" makes it even better. If you have no clue what Monty Python is, I suggest Googling it.
Synopsis - Set in the times of old, King Arthur (Graham Chapman), Sir Bedivere (Terry Jones), Sir Lancelot (John Cleese), Sir Robin (Eric Idle) and Sir Galahad (Michael Palin) are instructed by God to seek the Holy Grail. But, if you know anything about the British comedy troupe "Monty Python" you know that they are rather silly. Some of the oddest thing appear in the movie, such as Inappropriate French Knights, the Knights Who Say Ni, the Killer Rabbit, the Trojan Rabbit, Tim the Enchanter, and finally, the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch. Again, for the full synopsis, go to Wikipedia.
Key Points - This one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Not a lot of people would understand this, but you must know their previous material to fully understand this zany adventure. This is also British comedy, so another confusing element to it is that the Brits know so much about humor that we North Americans don't completely understand. But that's what makes it so brilliant! And when it comes to British comedy, Monty Python does an amazing job at all of this silliness. It is an amazing adventure for anyone over the age of 13. Even though there are some kid friendly elements in it, there is a scene that is quite inappropriate.
Final Verdict - I give "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" 4.75 stars out of 5. Even though this is a movie that will span generations, there are confusing bits to it. Other than that, it's a good film overall. This is a Recommended Film
Oh, and really quick, my sister has a Book blog titled "1000 Books and Counting". She reviews her favorite books, whereas I review movies. Comment on her blog, and Follow her, and comment on her updates. Comment on my reviews with movie titles, and I might review them. Later!

INCEPTION - Review 1
Hi, my name is Sawyer, and I do movie reviews. I'm a big movie goer, so this should prove helpful to some of you. If the review is positive, I recommend you either rent it or buy it. If the review is negative, then avoid this abolishment at any and all costs. Please read more reviews first before you firm up any decisions. Note that these reviews are for both movies in theatres, and on DVD/Blu-Ray, so I don't want to spoil anything. Now, here is my thoughts on Inception.
Synopsis - "INCEPTION" is a film written, produced, and directed by Christopher Nolan. Keep in mind that he also did "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight", so you know this will be awesome. The story (for those who couldn't keep up) is about Dominic Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) who is trying to perform an extraction that at first seemed impossible: to enter ones dreams (specifically Robert Fischer Jr.'s) in order to implant an idea, or "inception", hence the title. They are trying to convince him to break up his terminally ill father's empire, so that Cobb can return home to his children, or something. If you want a total breakdown of it, go to Wikipedia.
Key Points - Firstly this is the most confusing movie I have ever seen. It never explained when one was in a dream or not, except for when Cobb spun his totem-a spinning top-to when it would topple if it were in reality. It's also very well written, to anyone who can understand it. Apparently, you have to be really smart to understand the complexity of the storyline. The casting was also exceptional, with Leonardo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, and Michael Caine make an amazing movie. And the cinematography was awesome, because there have been too many films with shaky cameras (this is a problem with Michael Bay films), but "INCEPTION" doesn't have any problem with this. This is an amazing Christopher Nolan film, and I believe that there should be more "INCEPTION" related items, like video games or a television series.
Final Verdict - I give "INCEPTION" 4 stars of 5. If this wasn't the most incomprehensible films ever made, a perfect score would have been awarded. Other than that, the casting was great, the cinematography was excellent, and it is an overall great film. This is a Recommended Film
